Attorney Barbara J. Doherty has a bachelor’s degree in Ecology from the The University of Connecticut, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law. She has been practicing law in Norwich, CT for more than 30 years.
Attorney Doherty worked as an assistant clerk in Superior Court for several years; and started her own practice in 1990. Fortunately, the concept of mediation in family law cases became available and gained acceptance about that time.
Attorney Doherty has specialized in divorce mediation for most of her time as a lawyer, and has helped hundreds of divorcing couples to separate successfully without resorting to litigation. These couples are invariably relieved and grateful to complete the divorce process in the easiest, and least expensive, possible way.
